Increadible piece! You did a hell of a job, I wish I could do something half that good. The only thing I would add is maybe some blast damage to the turret and hull. Just a minor issue. Great diaroma, period.
this might be my nerdiness coming out, but that is absolutley amazing. Great representation of Luke and Wedge’s (WOO GO WEDGE) Xwings. and I love the turbo lazer cannon, great scratch build, I’d love to see a WIp of it
yes! more of the Turbo laser cannon please!
Especially how the guns themselves went together! ![]()

Thanks very much for your kind words everyone! I have some WIP pics somewhere, I’ll dig them out later for you to see.

“Lock S-foils in attack position!”
Wow! A fantastic dio, great, really great scratchbuild! Can’t wait for the trench scene, either.

Brad
Thanks very much Brad.[;)]
Any WIP shots of the barrels of the turret, and the inside of it? That is what I am interested in!
All I have is this…
the tower was made from two blocks of plastic card, the upper section having been cut to accomodate the cannons.
References show that the barrells rotated up and down so I used two coffee jar lids for the “gun wheels” with ends of plastic garden ties to act as the “cogs”.
The gun barrels were built from the following…
-
Lifecolour paint jar.
-
Screwdriver handel.
-
Spare afterbuner cans from other model kits.(3 differnt scales/types glued together.)
-
The shaft from an old scribing tool.
This was all done on the spur of the moment with whatever I found in my spares box and withing my workshop that evening. It really is surprising what you can do with a few spares.
Wow The force was with you on this build[#toast]I like the wine bottle behind the turret. I amsure that helped in the decision making[:P]
It certainly did!![oX)][#toast][#toast]
[:D]
Darren, Sorry I missed this, that is very cool my friend[tup] You did a bang up job.
Im getting a pic of an F16 with antenna mods in front of the windscreen.
David
Sorry!
I put the WIP pics up a long time ago, viper is currently occupying that space[:I]…I’ll see if I can get them up again for you.
Wow! Yet another build of yours I missed! That’s really exciting! I too have been a Star Wars fanatic since at an early age! I’ve got the AMT/Ertl X-Wing in 1/72, and a hoping to get to that son enough- a sort of test run before I try my hand at a Fine Molds Kit.[8D]
Excellent Dio, a very interesting story snapshot that brings back a lot of memories.
Well Done.
Charlie
Awesome build man!
That totally captures the scene. It’s almost like watching the movie. I can even hear John Williams in the background. The scratch-built base is stunning. Awesome work [bow][bow][bow]
I have two of the captain cardboard kits lying around in my sash, I have been wondering what to do with them, this may be a good idea, a death star trench scene
