Are there any good kits out there of an M24 Chaffee light tank? I remember one from Testors years ago.
As far as I am aware, there is only one injection moulded kit in 1/35 by Italeri. The Testors kit to which you’re referring was a rebox of the Italeri original.
As stated, the Testors kit is the US boxing of the Italeri kit. Italeri retooled the kit within the last few years to more closely replicate a WW2 Chaffee. The original kit was a copy of a post war vehicle with more “modern” features than a WW2 tank had.
The main differences are the new kit includes early tracks and the dozer mounts were removed (a post war addition) from the front of the hull. Perth review of new tooled kit: http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/italeri/it6431.htm
The current retooled Chaffee (early) should still be available in stores:

Box art (from eBay) of the original issuse of the Chaffee:
The “ultimate” M24 Chaffee package would be this:
Testors/Italeri base kit
Formations upgrade (new turret, lots of corrections for Testors kit)
Fruil track set
Eduard PE set
To all, thanks for the advice. I’ve been wanting to round out my WWII US armor with one.
