[2c] i had good luck with tamyia field blue over grey styrene, however it might be a bit “blue” for your taste,i used it on a ster emil from trumpeter with the large slab armor and it looked ok to me.btw i did one in 35th and painted one for a friend in 72nd the smaller one looked darker and somewhat weathered.all was applied by airbrush.[:)]
I just want to say thanks for all the responses and recommendations for painting Panzer Gray! I’ve got a few vehicles to build and now I can experiment with different colors and methods! You guys are fantastic! [8D]
I just use the Model Master spray can. It is dark. I higly doubt a light gray is correct.

hmmmmm…everyone has their own interpretation of German grey…keep in mind that color photos of the time are famously innacurate as to tones…color photography was in its infancy…a few years ago the Russiams pulled a StuG III out of a river near leningrad and the pics of the grey was very bluish…you could argue that the hue changed over the years it was in mud, however…just a thought; any grey would probably match what was fielded under certain conditions…in fact, that is why the Germans went to dark yellow in early '43…they observed that over time their tanks turned this color on the Russian steppes…so they figured it was the best color ro paint their gear in…
