recommendation on Battleship 1/350 scale 60 dollars or less ?

I have no expernice on ship building , i like to build one . I need recommendation

Thank you

Rick

Battleship might be difficult to come up with, maybe you can come up the older Tamiya Bismarck or Prince of Wales,on sale or on Ebay, but even they can be higher.

A cruiser would get you into that price range, like the Trumpeter Graf Spee or USS San Francisco.

Depending on the amount, or lack or, detail you want, for a first build you might look at either the old Revell Arizona (not 1/350 though), or the newer Hobby Boss release of her. The HB version is a little less “clunky” in the details from what I’ve seen in the kit I have.

This time of year some vendors might have a few kits of BB’s on sale fo around your price point, but have to add in shipping.

thank you . i will looking into Cruiser

Rick

Look at either the Trumpeter or Academy Admiral Graf Spee.

Either one is on Amazon, free shipping, within your range.

The big $$ start when adding aftermarket things, in particular photo etched brass and wood decks.

Avoid that for the first couple of ships you build, to see if you like the genre.

Building a 1/350 carrier or BB with the added parts will stretch out over a year or more. The end results are great, and I have a few creeping along while I build other things.

Mylocal hobby shop can get

Trumpeter Graf Spee $70

Trumpeter USS San Francisco 1/350 $62

Trimpeter USS Indianapolis CA-35 $55

Rick

Sounds good, like it was mentioned,if its your 1st,avoid the extras, just build and see how you enjoy it.I plan to build my Spee as soon as I am in my new house.

Like this weekend ? Are you post the build ?

Rick

No house is being built, stuck in an apartment with no work space till May-June

i understand that one

Im going to order the USS Indianapolis , Due ti its cheaper . I done one ship build last year . A cheap 15 dollar USS king

Not too long ago I picked up a Academy Bismark for about 55.00. I hven’t opened it yetso I can’t say how good it is. If it doesn’t work out I forsee a future science fiction project comming up.

About 2008 my wife bought me an Acadamy Tirpitz 1/350 scale kit. She spent about $ 45 on it.

So far, all I have done to it, is paint the hull. look’s to be an easy to assemble kit… but not as detailed as I would like.

So does that mean the Tamiya kit is the best for that class ship?

Not sure…

I believe the Acadamy kit’s are re-boxed Tamiya kit’s… but I may be wrong.

Politely; you are not correct.

Academy all the way and just OK.

Currently the Revell of Germany kit is probably the best of the injection molded ones. Expect to pay about $ 150 for it.

Rick, look on ebay as they have a lot of very good prices. I buy most all my models there. Here is my Indianapolis & the Jap sub that sank her. I believe it is a Trumpeter 1/350 kit. As I remember it did come with some photo etch for the cranes & catapults.

I have built most all the 1/350 battleships over the years. Ebay has git a lot of new & used kits that are most always complete. Try Tamiya kits s they are really excellent. Gene

Ok. Thank’s . I don’t recall where I heard that.

( I’m a “Wealth” of miss-information. )

Very Nice

What Jap Sub. Would That be?

Rick
