Hi guys… I have also posted a few pic in the Helo section, and commented on my having to use my webcam to take my latest pictures… My camera has crapped itself…
Anyways, here is my Recently completed JASDF F-104 Star Fighter… It is the 1/72 Hasegawa kit…
And here is a sneak peak at an upcomming project… It is my JASDF F-1… I have this one to complete, and then I have to get my hands on a T-33, and then I will have modelled every jet used by Japan in there modern era…
Man, you’re a busy modeller, Chris!
Good-looking stuff, too. I’ve been seeing the 1/32 Hasegawa F-104 going for REAL cheap around here lately, and have been thinking about picking one up.
Excellent build. What natural finish did you use. How did you do the shading on the exhaust area. Did you use stock cockpit? I also have several projects in the works.
Hi Neil,
Well my techniques are a little different from most people… I dont currently own an airbrush, so I spray most things by can… The finish was done with a can from a company that makes hobby paint for painting household items here in Japan… It is a chrome silver… Its a little darker for a normal crome silver, but when you look at at the metal finish on a Starfighter, the metal finish is actually quite dark until it hits sunlight… Secondly, I did the different panels around the engines with Tamiya Chrome silver with a brush… It is a little lighter than the canned hobby stuff… To then add extra detail, I then mixed a little bit of flat black with the chrome silver to make it darker again for other panels… I do spend alot of time mixing different colours and trying different things… As for the Japanese Starfighters. The body is bare metal, and the wings are white!
