Reccomend some mud colors/mediums for Pacific airfield Dio

I’m planning a diorama with Bong’s P-38 (1/48 scale). It would be on some Marston matting with a fuel truck and jeep and other stuff. I’m overwhelmed by choices in mud effects, the colors and types etc. I need some suggestions for the mud and dirt on the ground as well as on the vehicles. The dio is based either on New Guinea or Tacloban, or it could be a mashup of both. This is a first time dio for me. I’m good on the vehicles, ground support stuff and figures but totally lost on the terrain. Any and all suggestions are encouraged and appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Mr. B

Google StreetView provides some interesting scenes near Tacloban Airfield which you could use to form a view as to the colour of the earth in the area. I chanced upon these workers constructing what I can only assume to be foundations for a security fence…

Unfortunately this trick didn’t work for Hollandia, which was abandoned in 1945. There’s not been much development of the area subsequently, but there are a few StreetView runs around the adjacent Santani Airfield. I couldn’t see any scenes which could definitively describe the soil in the same way, and to be fair the area is a bit of a s**thole…
