Hi all,
Does anybody have any pictures of the rear end of the
Shrike or HARM missiles?
The flat backsides of the kit parts just don’t look right.
I’ve tried searching the internet but without much success.
Thanks.[:)]
Lets see if I can get this picture posted…
That’s the best I could find.
Obiwan,
I found this one but like all of the ones I have found the end is covered or not visible enough to see detail.

Hmmm… well that’s certainly good to know! I always carved out the hole… appears I was misguided in my eagerness to correct an oversight! [:o] Nice post, thanks for bringing it up, obiwan! [:)]
Take care,
Frank
Thanks guys, (what would I do without all of you?)
Mike thts an excellent shot.
That picture really clears things up ,now to reproduce it on the kit…
Don’t thank me, thank Google.com. [(-D]

Well, this is probably taking detailing to ridiculous lengths, but once I was hired to repair a retired F-4 pilot’s 1/32 Revell model of the E he flew in Vietnam. One of the things I was hired to do was replace some of the armament, and add some new stuff, including Sidewinders. So I did a little research, which included going out to the local ANG base and looking at some real ones. The AIM-9s had wires stretched across the exhaust end of the missile, looking like the cross hairs of a gunsight. The purpose was to hold the rollerons on the fin tips in the stowed position, and when the missile was fired, the hot exhaust burnt through the wires, causing the rollerons, which stabilized the thing in turns, to pop out to flying position. Long story short, I used my own hair to replicate these wires after drilling out the exhaust end. Sure looked good if you knew it was there. Moral: There’s often more than just a hole at the end of a missile.
Rear end missles… er hmmm… sounds like the chili I ate last night… Sorry but no pictures are available, they got burned upon re-entry…
Pictures? The mind recoils at the very thought.
Who wants a picture of my rear end???[:O][:I][#oops]
