would somebody , be able to give me a brand name for a really good pair of pointed tweezers please . thank’s in advance .
Tamiya included a very nice set of tweezers in their 1/35 Renauly UE Carrier kit. You need them for the link part of the link and length tracks. Tiny links. And you get a nice kit tossed in a well.
Ask your dentist. I got my best pair from a fellow club member whose dad was a dentist and retiring. He bought in some tools the dad was getting rid of, and sold them to fellow club members for great prices. Mine are the super sharp point type. I lost them for a few days last year and was frantic till I found them again!
Janes Tools See her website at http://www.janestools.com/

She travels to many hobby shows throughout the country. I know she will be in North Texas at the IPMS/NCT show in June and she is a regular at the IPMS Nationals. Support her because she supports the hobby.
She sells many of her tools at 3 for 10 dollars at shows. Prices online look to be similar but you need to deal with shipping.
I have several of these. I like the drop point, it allows me to see the placement spot better. Good stainless steel with sharp points. I also have some of the slant points, good when you need a little larger grip
Oho .
Now here’s a crossover for you . Jane also vends at our train shows .Sharp lady when it comes to tools and some methods for creating scenery .Definitely a great choice .T.B.
thank’s guy’s , tried jane tools they don’t ship to aust., am looking online at dental tools

Location, location, location…
it really helps to know because what is available in one country is not elsewhere for various reasons…
Aside from a couple I acquired from my grandfather years ago, I got mine from Harbor Freight.
A fellow modeling friend was using a very nice set of tweezers that are matte black in color and longer than most you can get. He got them as a set from Amazon. I am getting ready to order myself a set.https://www.amazon.com/PIXNOR-Anti-static-Electronics-Jewelry-making-Laboratory/dp/B019SLLOMY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489323353&sr=8-1&keywords=hobby+tweezers
Those are actually nice looking set of tweezers. Better than the Harbor Freight kind. I may order them for myself. Thanks for the link!
I own many pair but the best I have used so far are Squadron Fine Point Micro Tweezers. They close with no gaps and hold well. Unlike others I own they rarely slip. They work well with small parts and make rigging possible. I bought them at a local Hobby Town and are available online and from Amazon.

One nice thing about stainless steel tweezers is that they can be cleaned free of just about anything. I often get a buildup of CA at the tips. I find needle files clean paint or glue or just about anything off and restore the points or whatever is on the end. And, no solvent used in modeling seems to damage them.
I’ve got a couple of pairs of fine stainless steel tweezers that I got from my mother when I was a kid and started building models. I don’t know the brands, though. One was made in Switzerland. As Don mentioned, stainless steel can be cleaned very easily with solvents. I also use fine steel wool, occasionally.
Asking your dentist is a good suggestion. But have a look in your area, at stores where beauty supplies are sold. You might find a good pair if tweezers, at a better price than a hobby supplier will charge.
The only pair I don’t recommend that strongly, by brand, is a pair of kinked tweezers made by Squadron. That is, the point is “bent” about 15 degrees from the axis of the grip. I thought they’d be easier to use, but I find that I can’t manipulate them or objects as easily as with my other, straight pairs. I use it more to pick things up off my bench, like toothpicks or other objects that are hard for me to pick up with my fingers.
Hi Baron ;
The tweezers you speak of have become invaluable to me .They’re indispensible for mounting P.E. In tight spots and great for greeblies in cockpits ! They are also great for the interiors of my custom made wooden boats . T.B.
P.S. I use 0000Steel wool and scuff the surface and paint them flat black and then bake them for about five minutes at whatever the temp my toaster oven says for " Pop - Tarts "
Steve 5 ;

Send me a Message and I’ll get what you want , and mail it to you from New Braunfels , Texas . P.S. Keep it below thirty dollars if you can . I will bill you on the backside . Remember , I am on Social Security !
thank’s tanker , but walking past a second hand shop and picked these up for $1 . couldn’t believe it , sometimes you get lucky , but I do appreciate the offer mate
steve
steve5; Igot a real good set of 5 different tweezers styles from MicroMark,been real happy with them. ACESES5 [bgr]
My favorite tweezers look like Steve’s lucky find. Many years ago I dropped into a stamp-collecting shop. Besides the standard duck-bill “stamp tongs” that you would expect, they also had tapered tweezers. I got one that came from Solingen, of Germany.
The most important feature of these is that they have a really, really gentle touch. So when I work with small parts, or stretched sprue or PE, I don’t need to worry about holding so tight that the part gets squished.

thank’s aceses5 , I did see them but the postage to aus., is exhorbitant . the one I found for a $1 , is exactly what I was after , long very fine point , with a soft springy action , and good grip for small objects
Well , here’s an offer . If you do need something from the States and it isn’t to expensive , I will always help out a Mate . I have a good friend here that used to be a Train Driver there . He and I are like old mates from back home . T.B.
