Well … I almost hated making a new thread on this subject, but I was not able to do any research on it in the archives. But I am really curious how you folks feel about sanding of raised panel lines and rescribing them.I was contemplating building a Tamiya 1/32 F-14 and converting it to a “D” model. But if you are not aware of the kit, alot of the panel lines are raised.I have never attempted to rescribe anything more than a couple of lines here and there, let alone a whole aircraft.ld like to know if many of you have done it and how serious it is taken at an IPMS contest.Your input would be greatly appreciated.[8D]

[:)]…Outstanding Swanny… thank you very much .I hope you don’t mind but I book marked it so that I can check it out at a moments notice. Thanks again![:D]
Long time lurker, first time poster!!! Good luck with your F14 A68Trans-AmMustang. I went into depression for a good 3 months when I heard they were being phased out in favor of the Hornets, the Tomcats are in my top 10 aircraft of all time. I guess things have to change though.
Good scribing tutorial on the Swanny’s Models website thats a great website. Swanny, your “salt technique” is my favorite now. Haven’t had a chance to try it on an airplane yet (although I have a P40 waiting in the paint shop). Here is a picture (somewhat OT) of what I did do with it if interested.

To keep this post on-topic, what is a good scriber for 1/72, 1/144 and smaller scale models?
I did a lot of RR modeling (HO) with my dad when I was a kid. Those cars look nice. For smaller scale stuff try a needle in a pin vise.
