Hi all…
Im working on this Super-etendard 1/72 model, and Im trying to detail the cockpit canopy. I tried masking it then using the air brush, but every time I took off the masking tape, it peels off along the way some of the fresh paint.
I tried using the brush, and paint on the canopy. The paint doesnt stick, besides, it looks very messy, so I had to take the paint away.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Regards
Just a thought - when you got ready to remove the masking medium, did you carefully cut along the edge? This cleanly separates the painted surface from the medium. It also sounds as if the surface might need to be cleaned thoroughly, since you mention that the paint doesn’t stick to the surface. Hope this is of some help!

Along with cleaning and carefully trimming the mask when paint is dry, if you wish to paint the interoir canopy rails mask the outside, paint the interior color first, allow to dry then paint you exteroir color over that, not only will it act as a primer it will give the impressoin of the cockpit being more complete. happy modelling:)
Hi! I have the same kit (plus a detail set from eduards) in the pile… my sugestion is:
first clean the canopy to eliminate any paint residue, and once it dry dip it on future, this will improve the clarity. let the future dry for two days in a container (so no dust will stick to the clear part) and then try to mask and paint again, I use bare metail foil to mask, cut a piece and burnish it using a cotton swap, then cut the excess whit a new Nº11 blade, paint and once the paint dry (don´t paint heavily) if you want cut arround the canopy´s frame and then simply peel off the mask.
hope this helps, and sorry about my English, isn´t very good
