They just released a conversion kit which coverts the 1/48 Tamiya A-1J into a A-1E it also includes a Cobra Company cockpit set. here is the link

That is a lot of money to spend on top of a tamiya kit…
I am not overly impressed with C&H Aero minatures castings, besides being overpriced
they are not as good as they can be. I spent much more on thier TAV-8B conversion and had prominent thumb print marks in the tail.
With that being said, Matchbox made an “E” model (AD-5) and that is what the Cobra Co. set is designed for. You can still find it I think without going the ebay route.
Do yourself the favor, save the money.
