Re: 1/16 Tamiya German Infantry On Manouver [WIP] *COMPLETED, PAGE 2*

Huxy…kickn like Bruce Lee…fantastic paintwork! The 42 looks awsome…nice save! looks like some painstaking work…well done![tup]

Thanks, psstoff and Stern0!!!

Modelchasm:

And techniques, yeah… I try out new things often! [:)]

And breaking a part is just horrible… hah… And, what’s the difference of CA and superglue actually??

Anyways, here’s the 1/16 guy…
What is that? BOOTS?? And equipment??

The backside… notice the weathering of the canteencup.

And a darker picture to show better the breadbag:

And the gasmask container… Is this approoved? You guys think it looks good?

Thanks! Comments, suggestions and tips are always welcome!!

Yes, I’m done with the figure himself, and I’m downright tired now. Will fix the base tomorrow before I leave.

The decals went on pretty nice. The only wash I added was a tiny pinwash to enhance detail. It went good, I say.

And an “older” picture, a few hours old… I got the comment that it looked like a propaganda poster picture… It sure does! (Comment from IPMS NOR forum)

Enjoy!!

Great build… I too am loving the Tamiya 1/16 lineup. I have the Wehrmacht Great coat MG gunner, the Loader with tripod on manouver, the reversible winter uniform figure w MP44 and Im currently finishing up the elite infantry with pea dot camo w/ MP40. Also in the works is a Verlinden winter warrior figure that I plan on displaying with one of the tamiya figures along with a verlinden 1/16 ruined building. Perhaps a Stalingrad scene w lots of snow:)

P.S. I also have painted a few blonde German figures and my method is to lay down a brown base. Then mix brown with some sienna and a bit of yellow and drydrush over the base. Then I gradually use more yellow and less sienna and finally a bit of yellow mixed w/ light skin tone for the final highlights… I then follow this with a wash of brown w/ sienna…

Excellent, I see no glaring errors (what more can you ask for?). The uniform is a little flat, but the equipment helps break that up. What base will he be on?

that IS sweet… and I agree with TacoBuff, what will the base be?

Thanks, Jim

Thanks, Tacobuff and Model Maniac!

JWalker, indeed the Tamiya 1/16 line is good. I haven’t tried Verlinden yet, but will soon. Not 1/16 tough…

'Aight… base done. No fancy scenic things, just simple, brushpainted base.

Woohoo!

So there you see the base… Simple one that came with the kit.

nice

Ok, teeny wheeny update… Shoe weathering…

A fine job Huxy…looks great, the boots and equipment are Fantastic!

Hux,

That’s a nice job. Keep it up.

excellent job on the dirtied shoes, though the base does resemble a chocolate chip cookie, LOL. Very nice figure. The eyes are superb.

Thanks, everyone!!!
