Hi all. I’m doing an RD4 (Navy C-47/DC-3) in 1/72 scale. It’s a surprise gift for a friend who flew them back in the day. So I’m trying to get a look circa 1962, when he was a navy pilot. I have the Italieri C-47 Skytrain kit. Need advice on:

What paint scheme would be date appropriate?

Where to find appropriate decals (or failing that, how to do them myself)?
Don’t assume any knowledge on my part – I can do a passable model but I’m not very skilled and don’t know much about what’s out there!
