raised panel lines

I am building a P-51in 1/48 scale from revell monogram with the classic raised panel lines. It is currently in a grey primer right now. I was wondering if there were any ways to bring out the panel lines to add a little contrast. I do not want to sand and scribe (the whole kit did cost under $10 after all). Any feedback is appreciated.

There are several methods. A simple and effective method I would reccomend using a simple pencil to draw over the panel lines after final painting. This can also replace any you lost during assembly & sanding. Even use your fingers to streak them a bit for a more weathered effect. A final clear coat will seal them on permanently.

Take a look at this, the last half of the article should be of interest.

You might try preshading over the panel lines with a diluted flat black. Than airbrush normally but go light over the panel lines to allow the black to show through a bit.

you can shoot the panel lines with black, then paint over the black with whatever color you are doing. then sand away the topcoat lightly with 400-600 grit paper to reveal the black. two birds with one stone, by both preshading and doing the panel liness. however in reality i doubt i could hit a single bird with anything less than a 12 gauge, let alone a stone, but im digressing here [;)]
