RAF 100th Anniversay GB

Justin: Ouch, that’s why I don’t build many big bombers. After masking the canopies of a B-24 and B-17 I need a break…

Scott & Theuns: Those are looking great guys.

Question: how do I get the group build badge pictures to show at the bottom of my postings? Either the rotating gallery as some of you have or just a static group of badges?

I had a website that you could enter the pictures into a series of boxes and it would kick out a sequence you could cut & paste into your comment section to cycle them. Just noticed it doesn’t seem to be working now. I’d pop you the link but it’s bookmarked on my PC at home.

Starting to look like a mozzy now…

Theuns

Certainly is Theuns, coming together nicely.

Here’s the one I use for creating rotating gifs:

Seems to be working.

To add anything to the sig, go to settings at top right and you can edit it there. It only allows so many charectors, so for more than a few GB badges you either have to put them into a GIF or all into one image.

Well, except for the length of hose that I still need to get to attach to the boom to refuel the Spitfire, I’m calling the Albion refueler DONE. Now just gotta get crackin’ on the Spit.

Theuns: She is lookin’ fine!

A_A: Really nice job there. Love the camo. Funny I’m getting fashion tips for the rest of the photos on the page though!

Ha ha, yeah, that’s a problem! I created the page on Pinterest and named it “Model Projects,” so I could load pictures of my model work. Well, not only does Pinterest link to other images that are similar, but it links to other sites with similar keywords, so my “model” page gets linked all kinds of fashion model pages! Same way, the airbrush turntable in my latest photos I guess resembles a wheel, so I got all kinds of links to photos of bicycle, motorcycle, and car wheels. Weird, but whatta ya gonna do?

That looks very nice AA.

Been working on my second build for a few days.

I am doing both kits, but the second will be in USAF markings for the model club GB to mark 70 years of the USAF.

These are rather simple kits with not many parts that can be put together in an evening. But i have just been doing a little at a time over a week or so. Fist thing is to fit the wheel wells and then add the wings.

Then, after painting the inside of the engine black, the top was added along with the rear fins.

So just got a few small bits to add and then off for some primer and paint.

To all who’ve finished, congratulations![t$t] Finally got caught up and am inspired to break the Sabre out when I get home tonight. Lots of good work going on. Looking forward to next year’s Commonwealth build. Will it be air force only or will naval avaition be allowed as well.

Looking forward to seeing that Sabre.

It will be open to all branches. I plan on doing one each from the British army, navy and air force.

Bish: Looks awesome! I’ve got to get one of these, no [cnsod] canopy to mask - my most hated point of building aircraft.

Lewbud: Sounds cool!

I know G, big bonus. This would make a good entry to the weekend GB. They are not easy to find at least on this side of the pond. Italeri also boxes this same kit but that only comes with one.

Slow and steady progress on the Mk. I Spitfire. I must say, the Tamiya cockpit is impressively well detailed!

Hey AA, looks good. Do you normally paint parts on the sprues like that? I can see how I would keep you from losing parts like I always do.

Depends. If they’re really small parts, parts that are going to be difficult to hold and paint, then yeah. And if they’re parts like the interior of the cockpit, that will need to be painted before assembling, then also yeah. But if it’s something like the exterior of the plane (wings, tail pieces, etc.), or any pieces that can just as easily be painted after assembly, then I’ll assemble first before painting.

Looking forwardto checking that out tonight AA. Can’t see the pics from this damn work Comp
