Here are some pics of my 1/72 Italeri RAAF Hawk. I entered this in our club’s British-theme contest last March. The kit was detailed with scratchbuilt parts and Aussie decals were used. You can see more contest pics through our website: http://www.ipmsphilippines.com
Showing off again, eh allan?? LOL! [:p] It’s about time this bird turned up here!
Gentlemen (and ladies), I have had the pleasure of seeing this one in person, and i just need to say that you wouldn’t think something so small can have so much detail! Keep up the good work Allan! [:D]
pssst! What are you building for the german contest and is there a 1/250 ship category?
Thanks, my friend. Havent really decided what to build for the German contest, but my mind is racing. Hehehe! A 1/250 ship category? Hmm… we’ll have to see about that. [:)]
Obiwan,
Thanks! I basically shaved off most of the details on the kit ejection seats. And after that I added mostly paper foil found on instant noodle lids and sheet styrene and wire for the details.
The cockpit details were also made up mostly of sheet styrene and clear acetate (for the instrument panel dials). I extended the sides of the cockpit tub so that it would fit snuggly to the cockpit. I made new instrument panels using sheet styrene for a more “crammed” look. Some corrections were also made on the instrument panel cowlings. Here are some progress pics:
