I just finished building the Tamiya A-10. I’ll post some pics in a different thread soon. I’m not sure why people complain about the parts fit of this kit. I thought it was great, much better than the Revell A-10. At any rate, I went with the Tamiya as it can be built “in flight” unlike the Revell that would require a lot of mods. But I digress…
Can the 1/48 Hobby Boss A-10 be built “in flight”?
Thanks, that’s what I needed. I have read a lot of reviews on it, but they never seem to mention that “option”. It’s odd to me that more people don’t build planes “in flight”.
Probably for display reasons. If you build in an “in flight” mode, especially if it is carrying ordinance, you either have to hang the kit from the ceiling or come up with some sort of stand for your shelf or display case. I used to wonder about why kit came with a folding wing option on naval aircraft, but now as I accumulate more builds I find myself wishing for this option on kits that should have it to save shelf space.
I’m interested to hear your thoughts on the Hobby Boss kit. I recently built it and was extremely impressed. One of the better kits I’ve built as of late.
Hobb Boss is supposed to be a reall high end kit. I read some revies of different kits and have been impressed with what I have read. Then the sticker shock. $70 for a 1/48 kit and some 1/72 are at $35.
I picked my A-10 up for a steal at around $39…lots of patience in surfing the web waiting for a good deal… I actually spent more on the Big Ed-associated set than the kit itself. Results were stunning.
