I did my P-51 in model masters metalizer and testors enamals, im about to do the decal’s and then would like to clear coat it. unfortunatly because my car is broken down at the moment I dont have acess to my local hobby shop, just the local toy shop they only have testors gloss coat and dull coat. first off i would like to ask if either product will harm the metalizer, and then what you guys think would work better on a mustang the dull or gloss? maybe kindof an easy question but like my hockey coach used to say “there are no stupid questions only stupid people” and i seem to remember which catagory i always used to end up in. thanks in advance
I use MM Buffing aluminum metalizer and after buffing i put on a couple coats of dullcoat and it gives it(at least to my old eyes) the right appearence. Not to shiny, not to dull. Hope this helps[8-] It acctually seals the metalizer quite well
helps immensely, thank you much. anybody else? i really dont know if im gonna use metalizer again, it really has a weak bond to the plastic
Neither gloss nor dull will harm your metalizer, but both will reduce any sheen the metalizer gave you. The dullcoat will kill it completely - as in flat aluminum.
Which is what you want for a war weary fighter.
