quick decal set and solution question

Hey gang,

I know this should probably be in the decal section, but this forum sees more action than they do.

Anyway, I forget which does what. Which softens up the decals and which pulls it down into the nooks and crannies?

Thanks,

Fred

I use the microscale system.

Micro set softens and improves the adhesion and Micro Sol softens and draws the decal down.

Has always worked well for me.

Micro Set (Blue bottle) softens decals & improves adhesion. It should be applied to the model surface before placing the decal. Micro Sol (Red bottle) softens the decals & draws them down to conform to the model surface. It should be applied to the decal after it’s in position on the model.

Thanks for the info, guys [:D]

For some reason, I can’t get the decal to conform using the solution. Maybe it’s too old, or the decals are a bit funky, I don’t know.

I’m used to applying the solution, watching the decals shrivel up and then settle down. I’m not getting that reaction this time. I thought maybe I was using the set and solution backwards or something.

Oh well, I’ll keep trying.

Thanks again,

Fred

Fred,

You do know that doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity, don’t you? [8-]

Some decals are only good for lining trash baskets. What kit are they from?

I agree, some decals are complete crap. I’ve been trying out Micro-Set, and I think Micro-Sol is more necessary for conforming decals to irregular surfaces. Good luck…
