[:)] Hi all,
I have never built or painted any german WWII aircraft before and I now have 5 kits begging for my attention[8D]
So here’s my questions:
-
Anyone know the Humbrol enamel equivelents for RLM Nos?
-
Do any of you have an unwanted decal sheet for a JU 88C-6? My kit is a winter scheme and I’d like to do a grey camo scheme instead. I’ve tried loads of sites, but all the sheets I like are out of print[V] Any help on this one would be much appreciated[;)]
-
How do you paint your mottle paint schemes? Freehand or masking?
-
Any good reference sites/books I might find useful?
Does this guy want you to build the kit for him too?[:D] Nope. I know it’s a lot to ask for, but any help on one or more of the above would be of great help[:I]
Many thanks,
Darren.[;)]
Hello Darren,
Answer 1 : I don’t heve the equivalent of the RLM numbers, but I do have chart to find the Humbroll equivalent of the paintnumbers you find on your instruction (what manufaterer is it ?) You can find the chart on my website…
Answer 2 : nope, no decalsheet…
Answer 3 : normally, it shouldn’t be a problem to do the mottle freehand when using a fine airbrush, there are photo-etched “masks” on the market to do this, but that is a bit of overkill I think.
Answer 4 : this in the Internet, man, just type the name of the aircraft your interested in, and do a google on it, you’ll find plenty of usefull sites.
Answer4bis : if you have a program called e-mule, do a search on squadron, you will be amazed what you can download.
Oh, by the way, I’m not an expert [:)]
Thanks Dan,
The kits I have are a mix of Revell/Monogram/Dragon and as I use Humbrol their paint Nos are a little difficult to compare with mine! I’ll check out your site, thanks for your help,
Darren.
Oh, forgot to mention : the reference chart is under “Projects” (yeah, I know, I have to do some cleaning up on my site)
The refencechart that DJ just gave, is better, go for that one.
Dan, now you can update your list. If only a little!
Dan,
that’s a great site you have there, the paint chart is just what I needed-a thousand thank-you’s sir!
Darren.
Domi,
a thousand and one thank-you’s for the link! Now I can compare the lists to all my kit instructions and sort out all the colours that I’ll need. I’m gonna be buying a lot of little tins…
