So all genre are in one forum? No way to different forums for planes, ships, cars etc?
There is the overall category and then subcategories in each.
Just click into the categories, just like at the old Forum.
In the lefthand panel, under Categories, there is also the choice “All Categories”, Missileman. I’ve been using that, too. The menu that opens on the right-hand side looks like this:

How does one reply with quote?
I assume it’s the reply box in the lower right corner of the post I wish to include the quote from, but when I try that the text of the post I wish to quote doesn’t appear.

Try selecting (highlighting) the text you’d like to include in your reply. You should see a couple “quote” options pop up.

The text that I want to quote isn’t showing. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Feeling quite stupid with this. I’m sure it’s simple.

When you open your response, just click this button and it will quote the post you’re responding too. No muss, no fuss.

New topic. I noticed in this post by Eugene Rowe that instead of just resizing the image in the post it cropped it, removing the subject of interest. The picture was portrait format and it might not be as much of a factor in landscape format.
John, to me it looks like this is because that photo is hosted on Google photo and not directly in the forum. That would be something that would have to be taken up with the site hosting the photo.
This is what it looks like when I copied and pasted it in the FSM Forum.

Hello Tim, my name is Patrick Selitrenny and I am new here. I have started a new topic about a diorama I am working on and I would like to document it more thoroughly by posting more pictures of my work, but alas, I found out I could only post one of them to my posts.
Is there a way to post more than just one and if yes, in which space around here.
I have documented all my progress ever since I started it and I have dozens of pictures ready to go. So far I have completed the basic structure o my diorama and I am half ways through.
There is still lots to come and I would like therefore to also post more pictures in the future.
You may find my submissions called “The Last Warning” (Normandy, April 14th, 1944).

Patrick, I believe only being able to do one picture per post is a newbie thing. After a bit you will be able to do more, I think. Not sure if that’s correct, hopefully Tim can clear it up.

Simon is correct. There is a limit on the first few posts you make. They are basically safeguards against spamming and making sure new members are engaging in other topics and with other members. So, pace yourself at first, make sure to interact with other members who comment, and you’ll notice that you’ll gain more accessibility pretty quickly.

Thank you Tim, I realize that I am new here and that I must be patient in obtaining a new status. After all Rome was not built in just one day. Although my work on my diorama is taking me most of my time for accuracy and detail, I will try to interact with others as much as I can (when time allows, that is). Pity we don’t have a 72 hour day…
