i just picked up a Mach 2 Doriner DO 24 flying boat and have a questtion;Whats up with instructions?Unless my kit is missing them the only instructions in the box was a small scrap of paper with some crude line drawings no parts call-outs or assembly sequences whatsoever!Is this typical of Mach 2 kits?This is puzzling because I have never seen poorer instrctions! Can anyone shed any light on it?
Italeri makes a very nice Do 24-T, and I’ll bet you wish you had it.
Typical of Mach 2 kits. There’s lots more you’ll discover too. The clear parts are always crap, the quality of the moldings is usually bad, and the parts don’t fit.
But they do sell unusual subjects, like the Valiant, Caravelle and C-123.

I’ll tell ya, what p.o.'d me on the last one. It was the Skyshark,which has a big 6 bladed counter rotating prop. All of the prop blades were twisted in the SAME direction. Crank that puppy up, and stand still while making a hell of a lot of noise.
Sell it on eBay and buy the Revell/ Italeri. Actually, a buddy built one of the M2 for my Floater GB over on Swannies site, and did a nice job, you might check it out as he lays out all of the issues. Swanny himself has a build too on his home page. The write up will make you laugh, till you cry.
Yeah! I checked the Squadron website and the kit is listed at $89.95!I paid $44.00 dollars at my lHS so In feel a little better but the Italeri version is probably the way to go!in the meantime I might start this! 
Revell Germany puts out a nice Do24 kit in 1:72. Parts fit is good and has a nice and detailed instruction sheet too! Bought mine for under 20 bucks.
If you shop on ebay, Testors reboxed the Italeri kit at one point too. It seems like Testors reboxes usually sell for less than Fujimi or Italeri issues of the same kits even though they are identical, usually right down to the decals.
I’m not positive, but I would guess the Revell of Germany kit is the same as Italeri kit. They share a lot of kits, but frequently offer different markings.
I wonder if the Mach 2 kit makes a different version of the Do-24? I can’t imagine why Mach 2 would try to compete with a mainstream model company, they usually focus on odd aircraft not kitted by anyone else which is the only reason to put up with their kits.
The mach 2 (or is it FM?) kit is 1/48, the Italeri is 1/72. The only other option in 1/48 is from HML.

FM, and that is truly the kit from hell.
I see the DO 26 But that picture looks a lot like a DO 24…does the 26 have pusher/puller engines? If so that`s prolly the difference.
Actuallly very different. The 24 has three engines all traction, in an down-up-down order. It has a parasol wing raised on struts, and hull sponsons. The 26 has a shoulder wing, and wing mounted floats.
The 24 has a twin tail, the 26 a single.
Yes the engines(total of 4)are in a push/pull configuration.Also the rear engines were designed to tilt up for takeoff.
The Do-26 is a pretty plane but the Mach 2 is probably difficult…
