Question re 1/72 Academy Stryker IFV model

I am looking for a Stryker to mount on a HO scale (1/87) flat car. The actual HO scale ones I can find are in the neighborhood of $60 apiece, which seems exorbitant for my purposes. I can get an Academy 1/72 model for a sixth of that price, but my question is-- to anyone who actually has this model or knowledge about it-- would 1/72 look ridiculously out of scale? I honestly have no clue.

Yes, 1/72 is about 20% larger than 1/87 and probably wouldn’t even fit on the railcar.

Here are a couple companys selling 1/87 Strykers for about $40:

A cheaper option would be the Matchbox Stryker MGS. Yes, Matchbox as in diecast metal little cars that hang next to Hotwheels at local stores. They did one that is noticeably smaller than my 1/72 scale Stryker kits. I bought one for my son a few years ago. I’d take a picture of it next to one of my kits, but I have no idea where he has it in his toy box.

While this is strictly a guess going on memory, I would estimate the Matchbox miniature to be bigger than HO but smaller than 1/76 scale because it was smaller than my 1/72 scale kit.
