I am about to paint the yellow stripes on my Tuskegee P-39 from Eduard-- but of course there is no documentation on how wide they were…I am adopting the scheme featured in the Three Guys Replicas Tuskegee set of OD top and Neutral Grey below, but there is no indication of how wide they were. The picture on the decal sheet is not detailed enough to give a clue…right now the masks are about 1 cm wide…but I wanted opinions before I actually spray the paint…
The Yellow ID stripes were 18" wide, or 3/8" in 1/48 scale.
