Question on torpedo planes....

Which Hasegawa Kate kit has a torpedo included in the box? In the same respect- which AM Avenger kit please? Thanks!

All of the AM Avengers come with Torpedoes, depth charges, armor piercing 1000pounders and 500 and 1000 GP bombs

Not true. I have the “North Atlantic” one and it come only with Depth Charges.

Ooopppss! I had the “return of the Tukeys” two plane kit that AM released before they closed shop and it had two full sets of everything. I assumed that was how the individual kits were as well. I just checked my George Bush Avenger and it only has 500 pounders. Sorry, my mistake.

OK…so which single kits then [;)]

And which is the North Atlantic one by the way?? Always like their schemes

I found this on the AM webpage for 2005 releases:
1/48th World War II Armament Set

This set contains general purpose bombs, depth bombs, rockets, a Mark 13 torpedo, bomb cart, and a ground service tug typical to airfield settings at Allied airfields and aircraft carriers during World War II. Containing over 50 parts, this set will add interest to any 1/48th Scale U.S. Army Air Corps, U.S. Navy, or U.S. Marine Corps aircraft modeled in the World War II and Korean War periods. Molded in medium gray plastic

Squadron lists this Kate as having a torpedo:

I saw that too, and it’s beneath AM in my opinion. I have the AM B-25C/D and B-25G and both of those kits contain just about everything in this twenty-dollar set. And I have a box full of unused, unbuilt bomb carts and tow tractors from various kits. I’d only send AM my twenty bucks if I was really short on leftover armament in the spares box. As for the torpedo, the best one I’ve ever seen is the resin Mk. XIII available from Squadron/True Details for three bucks (two when it’s on sale, which is often). It includes the plywood box for protecting the fins. The props are too fragile, but other than that it’s almost perfect in outline and details, and I like the heft of the solid resin.
As for AcMin, there is nobody who loves their products more than me, but more and more they are beginning to rely on sneaky marketing tactics and just generally seem to be getting away from the modelers whose product loyalty they have depended upon so much in the past. Yes, I know they don’t want another Chapter 11 scare, but I don’t like the direction the company is taking. They are getting less modeler-friendly, and it’s only a matter of time, I’ll bet, before that nice customer service we have grown to love will be a thing of the past. AM, based on recent personal experience and that of other people I’ve talked to, has been ticking off a particular group of folks they shouldn’t be alienating.

Ahhh…thanks guys!!

Pix-- that be it! Thank you sir…
