That’s basically it, however the photo you posted seems to have a paper or plastic panel taped to the hood. The ones we painted on were located on the roof; on my truck it was over the rear seats.
Hey those Panels were nylon and they were placed on the hood or on the rear hatch. At least that was where we put them when we went on manuevers. I was in the Cav , So we had to have them on the vehicles. How on the 2 1/2 t and 5 t they were placed either the hood or the roof of the cab. Not many HMMWV’s had the same ID panels that are on just about all Armor in the Us inventory. Very few did get them … special units like SF or the Ground crews for the 160th special ops (Aviation).
Hey Spam,
At the time that I was lookin, this was the only pic that showed the day glow somewhat well. Thanks again my friend.
Rangerboy,
So from what I have read, it seems that each unit varied in the placement of the panels as well as what type of materials that were used.(make sense?)
I also sent you an e-mail about a question regarding a motorbike attachment.
Thanks again for your time and help. I’ll keep you guys posted on my build.
Flaps up, Mike
Butz, good luck with your project. Eventually I’ll build one myself. I 've got the Italeri “commando” hummer they’re talking about in another thread and I’ve got the Verlinden “basic humv” improvement kit, so when all these other projects get finished…
