Question on Eduard 1/72 M4A3 (105mm) kit...

Hi all,

I’ve decided that my next build will be this 1/72 Eduard Sherman kit, and I’ve got a question:

The PE set that comes with the kit has grates for the engine cover, but those same grates are molded on the upper hull in plastic.

Do I need to sand off molded plastic detail to use the PE part?

I haven’t actually seen that particular kit, so I am really kind of guessing here… But based on my experience with a similar setup (sorry can’t remember which kit), I would sand over the detail only lightly-- to get an even, smooth surface and to give the glue somthing to bite onto-- then glue the PE grates directly over the plastic detail.

I’ve got the kit, yes you should sand off the detail if you wish to use the PE part.

I’ve built one of their shermans, the M4, but not the m4A3 105.
