I’m thinking of one, because I want to build an Afrika Korps version. I like the short-barreled 50mm. Is the kit any good? Was the Panzer III E used much in Africa, because Dragon is coming out with one sometime and I’d hate to miss the boat on the new tech that is sure to come with it. Thanks.
ive got my old dragon kit 9040 imperial series panzer 111/e and from the info on the intructions it was used in africa [8D] but the decals are for balkins and greece in this kit anyhow…this kit is real nice …with pe parts for grilles …indervisual shocks …nice detail in the running gear and mantlet with two coax guns…hopr this is what u were lookiing for…regards jazz
Thanks Jazz. The Panzer III G has boxart showing it in Africa, so it should have the decals. I was wondering about the Panzer III E, but you answered my question. Did it come with a 50mm gun as was applied to late versions returning to the factory? I’m curious to see the new release, which is probably an updated version of your Imperial kit with new goodies like a aluminum barrel and whatnot.
i bet it will be the update of the old imperial kit and yeah its a 50mm gun… but if dragon keep to what they are doing it will be a super retooled kit …ill properly get two more i always buyin two,s or three,s. of each model build one keep one.jazz
Well, I went ahead and grabbed the G. I had no idea the E came with a 50mm L/42. Had I know, I may have waited for the newer E to come out. Of course it will be hard to find. I saw a pic of it in the 2003 catalog. So where the heck is it, we’re in 2005 already?
