Question on British Challenger 2

Did all of the British Challenger 2 tanks in OIF have the extended applique armor skirts? Want to build a challenger 2 as used in OIF and not sure if my scratch building abillities are up to making the applique armor.

Thanks, Doug

Yes they did. There are two options available to you. Accurate Armour offers a resin conversion to turn the Trumpeter Challenger II into an Operation Telic vehicle. It’s expensive, but is worth the extra cost. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, Trumpeter is releasing two updated versions of the Challenger II, an Operation Telic version (with the appropriate modifications) and an SFOR version that has a mine plow in the kit for Challenger II’s. The Hobbytown in my city has started to sell the Operation Telic kits so it’s out there.

Im still waiting for Dragons New Firefly[:(!]

Hi there
I picked up both the new Chally 2’s from the Lhs yesterday and first impressions are quite good, the only thing i’m not sure about on the Op Telic one is the painting instructions. They give the colour as 80% sand yellow (#313) and 20% white, according to what i can find out Gunze’s #313 is equivalent to Humbrol #121 light stone. Now adding 20% white to that IMHO would make a nearly white vehicle which seems wrong to me.
