Question for the RC guys.

I’m finishing up these two that have been on the bench for a while.

Tamiya recommends removing the batteries after every use. I assume this is to avoid damage from leakage or possibly the DMD unit from heat when recharging.

The problem is, to remove them from the Tiger would require removal of both the turret and the deck which gets screwed in place. The Sherman would be easy enough to do, the entire deck upper hull just lifts off.

Anyone out there that removes or doesn’t remove them, or has any opinion on this?

Thanks.

yeh i have tiger 1… 2 and pershing r/c tanks i leave them in but run them down to empty and i mean empty… even to the sound stops… had them for quite awhile no probs yet regards stoo

whats the sherman like… do u have it converted to turret rotation while moving like the rest…stoo

Thanks jazzbot, you charge them in place I gather?

The Sherman’s neat. The suspension is cool the way the bogies bounce around. Yeah I did set it up as four channel, pretty simple just follow the programming sequence on the English Tamiya site (Tamiya USA doesn’t give the directions for some reason).
The only drawback is no recoil.

yeh thats where i saw it too …also yes on charge in place but i diaconect from the dmd and mf units… if u buy the pershiing its designed to leave batt in and shows diagrams to recharge with bat in regards stoo… they should have made the sherman 75mm gun…

Thanks again. you leave the batteries connected to the DMD and MF when not being charged though, right?

Tou can get an aftermarket turret and barrel for it. The other drawback to the SHerman is the mold is from 1974 so the detail is lame. All the hatches and periscopes are molded shut in place.

no i disconnect them all its a pain taking off the engine plate etc…but its better safe than sorry i guess…i reckon they should have designed them different…regards jazz

I have the King Tiger, I just leave the battery pack inside it, un plugged. I discharge it as far as I can go then plug in a battery conditioner/discharger onto the pack.

what scale are those ausf?

Dave

dave its …jazz…1/16 scale and they are really nice …sorry ausf for jumping in …jazz

Jazz what kind of money did they set you back? I want one!!!

Dave

dave there quite expensive but i reckon its worth it …about 1600 for tiger 2…1400 for pershing… the tiger 1 is on special last time i looked at 1250 down from about 1450,after u finish it u can by a infered kit and have sim battles…its like real… 30m radius sim three km… if u fire at a certain range or distance and say hit me ill hear a explosion from my tank and my turret might stop working or one track say …after u r killed the system resets… heaps of buiding involved and real suspension… jazz

I want one of these so bad. As soon as i sell one of my kidneys on the blackmarket Im gonna buy one!! LOL. j/k
