Question for all Bf 109 gurus

Hi!

Does anyone know if there is a decent Bf-109 F4 kit out there, preferrably in the markings of Hans-Joachim Marseille? Or does it have to be a conversion from some other Bf 109 version, with after-market decals?

Thanks!

What scale are you looking for? In 1/48 ICM/Alanger just came out with a nice F4 Trop that has Marseille’s markings included. Hasegawa also makes a very nice 1/48 kit but I am not sure if they have the markings for his bird with the kit. Superscale has made at least one set of decals that includes his aircraft recently.

Decals for various marseille’s 109F’s have been out in the past. Right now I don’t know what is available. One of the major decale companies did a whole sheet with 4 or 5 of his F’s on it, but now i’m not sure who it was. I’ll look into it I may have it, but I doubt it. In 1/48 scale stikpusher is right the icm kit I believe has his marking included but the hasegawa does not. In 1/32 the only choice is to use a conversion kit and back date a hasegawa G to a F, or find a 21 centruy F kit. The problem is the hasegawa will require fair amount of work to get a accurate F and the 21 century kit is actually a F-4Z with problems but he did fly a F-4Z.

Now if accuracy is not a issue and you want a 1/32 scale F either build the 21 century kit or if you want more detail get a hasegawa G-4 and rescribe it for a F. unless you know your 109’s most will not be able to tell the difference bertween a early G and a late F.

I did have a marseille’s decals in 1/48 scale but must have given them to someone. Superscale # 48-685 109F/G aces has his F-4Z decals. I’ll poke around and see what I can find, I have a ton of 109 decals. I don’t know if superscale sells this still or not.

Hasegawa made a 1/48 '109F-4 with Marseille’s markings last year. Unfortunately, most places are out of stock. Here’s a photo of the box:

And, here’s a link to a retailer that lists it as out of stock:

Hasegawa 1/48 Bf-109F-4 Marseille

Hasegawa lists the kit as number J13, if that helps to look for one. Hope that helps!

Airfix had one, some time ago. Its OOP now, but it was one of their better ones.

Thanks for all the info, this should definitely point me in the right direction, for the 1/48 scale. [bow]

Now if I can only finish all the the things that I have on my workbench right now…
