Question concerning M60 combat service

Hi yall

This past week I traded a coworker a 1/72 Revell Flower Class Corvette for a Tamiya M60A1, Leclerc, Scale T80 UD, and various other kits. Anyway I was doing some research on the M60 and several of the sites I found stated that the early M60s served in Vietnam. Is this true? If it is where can I find some photos of these early M60s?

Sort of. A couple early M60s were tested in Vietnam. They didn’t serve there operationally. I haven’t seen any pics of them in Vietnam. The only M60 varients that actually served in Vietnam operationally were the M88 and the M728 CEV.

5 M60a1’s served in the invasion of Grenada with the Marine Corps. They did not have ERA on them.

I read that there was a report (rumor ? ) that a M728CEV destroyed an NVA T-55 in Vietnam. The article also said this is unlikely since there are no photo’s or records . It still seems like a possibility though .
