Being an “old” Marine myself, I was wondering if anybody knew when the USMC started painting their vehicles "Marine Corps green ?? I know they were olive drab in WWII, and by the time I joined in 1964 they were M.C. green.
Is there a difference? There have been several shades of Olive Drab. I remember in the 60’ early 70’s that was almost a semi-gloss black green, at least it looked that way on the turret and hull armor. Rob or Heavyarty might know.
Being a Marine from the 60’s I noticed the colors used besides MC green, were forest green and field green. with age and the sun,its hard to tell the base color.
Yup, "Marine Corps green is kinda bluish green. Testor’s modelmaster paints has it.
