Does anybody know anything about this one?
is it a “10th anniversary” with special features reissue or just a regular one. wondering because it’s pricy even at hlj (4000 yen).
any other places on the web it’s possible to find it?
Oh, and one more thing, any rumores for Maus reissue?
Thanks! [8D]
Howdy, ShModeler!
I checked all the Shanghai Dragon sites I could find, and it’s only listed simply as one of their products, with no special news attached concerning re-issue or anything else. From experience, I do know that Dragon does from time to time re-release its older kits, with little or no fanfare.
4,000 yen is actually the normal price for that kit here in Japan, so I don’t reckon there’s anything special about it. It’s a great kit, though!
Weeeelll, I think ya’ll know by now that Big E’s one of my faves! [:P]
It sure is a great kit of a fascinating subject.
Ah, by the way ShModeler, the previous info I posted goes for the Maus as well. Which is another great kit of a fascinating subject!
I have the Maus kit too, but instead of doing the “Wermacht '46” thing like I did on my E-100, I’m gonna do the Maus as it appeared during its trials.
Bill, didja get the Mori Artisan mantlet?
I just had a few beers with that guy the other night, along with the rest of the Naniwa Sensha-tai boys. He’s quite happy to hear his products are getting attention overseas!
Nope, I haven’t gotten anything yet. All my $ have been going to the money pit, aka my Tiger I. I did call Mission Models (the US distributor or Artisan Mori) and chatted with them a bit last week. They are hoping to get a shipment of ModelKasten tracks in within the next two weeks. I’m debating waiting until then to order the mantlet. I’d also like to get his Panther fan unit. It’s quite impressive, also. In fact, everything they had pics of was very impressive. It’s cool that you get to meet with the professionals. (Envy, envy!)
Cool. Everyone’s seen those pics of the techies crawling around the giant thing with its counterweight turret. Maybe you can do a diorama of one of those pics, then put one of the upcoming Cando Maus 1/144th scale models on the corner of the base to show what it would have looked like had it been developed into a combat vehicle. Y’know, like museum displays often do with dinosaurs.
Good idea, Larry!
I also like those pix of the poor beastie sunk halfway up its hull in mud. Some interesting Betty Crocker icing-like patterns plastered on the muddied monster!
I just put the check for my E in the mail. I was looking on my selves yesterday and found and early Panther D stuck behind some other kits… y’just never know what’ll turn up in that mess I call a hobby room!
Help! I’ve long coveted an E-100 but they’ve been “out of stock”. My web suppliers don’t have the reissue-does anyone know a source other than Evil-Bay?
Ron, I know what ya mean! You can find all kinds of surprises. Even disappearances. Lately, I haven’t seen that Dragon JS-2m I know I bought last year…where’d that rascal go??
Dan, as you know, there may in fact be a re-release of this kit and others in the near future. Dragon often re-releases kits here and there with little or no warning, so I would recommend not paying a lot of money for “out of production” Dragon kits, as they may be “in production” before you know it. If you can find a cheap one, snag it!
Well no, not in japan, not even close really, but since I discovered HLJ my life has change! I leave in Israel and although we are “developed” with conflicts our hobby is not developed at all. Resin, photo etch, scratch building are words not known in here!
There aren’t modelling stores (!!!) only toy stores with Italerie and once in five years a bit of revell. So I need to transelate Yen’s into Shekels…
according to www.xe.com which is a free site 1 Shekel is 24.35 Japanise Yen.
Is it your model in the little picture? where can I (we) see more of it? Just by any chance does dragon provide any intiriore details? maybe a main gun breach like in there Jagdtigers? How about the colour instructions, what do they suggest? Look here and tell me what do think… http://www.kitparade.com/gallery01/e100rp_1.htm
what do think of the street fighting theory?
Dragon provides no interior detail at all in this kit. Also, I added a ton of exterior detail to the kit to make it a “Wermacht '46” E-100.
Dragon suggests a squiggly pattern of Red Brown and Khaki Green over Middle Stone (Gunze colors). This vehicle never existed, so I reckon the sky’s the limit! You could paint it any way you want.
I really like Ray’s E-100! Gray is definitely my favorite color for German vehicles.
I doubt the Germans would have wanted to use these lumbering beasts for close-in street fighting, but they might not have had any choice had the war dragged on.
Now I got to know what did you add for it? I love the color scheme! what you call it? “ambush grey”? tell me what colors did you use? It’s beatiful with all the skirts on. and the figure for reference of the size is great!
Dont worry I’m not going to copy it, but it sure drives my muse for building the big E.
