QUESTION ABOUT REVELL'S 1/28 FOKKER DVII

Hi all, I’m new to the aircraft forum. I usually build armor but I’ve recently rediscovered the old REVELL WW1 fighters that I built waaay back as a kid. The most recent release, the FOKKER D VII, I’ve never built. I remember there being an article in F.S.M. a while ago about detailing and correcting the problems with the kit. Does anyone remember in what issue it appeared?

Any other info on the kit would ,also, be greatly appreciated.

I built this kit about 2 years ago as it had been hanging around my loft for years. It’s not a bad kit but one thing that really bugged me was the very flimsy undercarriage (which I broke and had to repair). It fits ok but because the rest of the model is quite heavy in comparison it wobbles back and for like a plate full of jelly. Taking scale thickness a bit too far!

Also I found the decals to be bad. I had to use Halfords clear lacquer acrylic car spray (which etches into plastic) to get them to even remotely stick.
