question about primer

I remember someone mentioning a fast drying metalizer type of paint you could brush on an area to check your putty/filling job - and it could be sanded after a quick drying time. Does anyone have an idea of who the manufacturer of this paint is - I think it was mentioned in one of the forums but I can’t find it.

i have no idea but i use a silver sharpie to check my seams.

sounds like that would work[:)]

Sharpies and certain paints do not react well together…if you don’t get the Sharpie residue off before painting it can and will bleed through no matter what you do…exercise extreme caution!

Could be the Testors Model Master Metalizers. I’ve got a couple of bottles here on the shelf and it reads “Dry to touch in 30 min.” on the label.

Hi there Normie,
Nothing fancy needed for this I think,
I just use basic spray primer, any acrylic auto stuff will do. Shows up most things you need to sort out, is cheap and no problems with follow up paint coats.
All the best,
Mick. C.

Learned that the hard way. :frowning:
