Question About Oxygen Masks

Hello, I’m currently working on an A-4 Skyhawk for a Group Build. I’m starting to detail the pilot and I noticed the hose to his oxygen mask just hangs feely, attached to nothing. Now, surely in real life this wouldn’t be the case. It would have to be attached to something that would feed him the O2 some where in the plane.

My question is, where?

I’ve never seen pictures of how the hose attaches to whatever it is that it attaches to, or where it goes. I’d like to add this detail, if I could, but my internet searches are fruitless. They usually show me what I already know…a mask, and a hose but no place of attachment.

Can any one help me?

I do believe it fits to an attatchment on the side of the seat next to the pilot…usually the right side. Thus the reason that most of the “cast” piolots are molded with the tubing to the right.

I’m not sure about the Skyhawk in particular, but several later-gen US aircraft have an attachment block on the starboard side of the cockpit next to the seat.

I’d imagine it’s in a fairly similar place for the Skyhawk.

A little bit of research shows that I’m wrong; the O2 and seat attachments are actually on the port side, right next to the pilot’s left elbow.
