I searched the forums forever, but was unable to find an answer to my question. I just purchased the 100 LG from Chigaco Airbrush Supply today. I noticed when I ordered it that it was the exact same 100LG that I had seen throughout the forums and on multiple websites. However, the one that I ordred said “Bakery” on the website where I ordered it from. Is there a difference in this airbrush, or is this the same as all other Badger 100LG’s.
Here is the link to the site where I purchased it from. I want the 100LG that everyone talks about on here, so if this is not right I would appreciate it if someone could fill me in so that I can cancel my order before its too late. Thanks!
Unfortunately, the company contacted me today, the same day I order, and said that they will not have any Badger Airbrushes for a while because the company cannot get any parts to produce the airbrushes. He did recommend getting an Iwata however. So I am looking at the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS Large Gravity Feed Airbrush. What do you think?
Yes it comes with the cap, you have to decide if you want the fine medium or large neddles, i have the fine but i only use it for detailing. it comes in a case with a wrench and a cap for the tip.
I ordered a 100LG from Dixieart, however I did notice that the website said there may be some"lead time" for Badger Products. So if nothing transpires from this, then I will contact Badger directly and try to find where I can purchase an AB. Can anyone recommend the Iwata Eclipse HS-CS Large Gravity Feed, or perhaps the Iwata Revolution CR? These are the alternatives that I am looking at if I cannot get a 100LG. I would like to get a Thayer & Chandler Omni 4000, however those seem to be out of stock everywhere as well, since they are related to Badger.
Yes, I “can recommend the Iwata Eclipse HS-CS Large Gravity Feed, and the Iwata Revolution CR”. (I am NOT saying that they are better or worse than the Badger AB’s since I don’t own a Badger AB.) I can walk into a local Hobby Lobby store and get the Iwata Eclipse HS-CS with their 40% off coupon for $120. No waiting. The trigger is very smooth and precise. The balance of the AB is superb. The price is slightly higher than equivalent Badger or Paasche, but not by much. (If cost is a concern, the Iwata Revolution CR is only $68, free shipping, from Chicago Airbrush Supply.) Hobby Lobby also carries the nozzle and needle replacement for Iwata at competitive cost.
The local Machiels Hobby Store carries the Badger AB and parts, but they don’t carry the 100LG or Omni-3000 type.
In other airbrush forums, there are definite opinion about the qualitly of needles among the major brands. It is not a decision factor to pick Iwata since I use the AB only a few hours a week. It will be a long time, if ever, that I need a new needle.
Thanks to all of you for your help! I was able to get a Badger 100LG for $69.95 with the Medium tip today. I received the shipping order through the email, with an expected delivery date of the 16th. I will look at possibly purchasing the Omni 4000 in the future. Maybe even an Iwata
This Bager is the first airbrush I have ever owned, and will be the first one I have ever used. I have never airbrushed a model before, so I am looking forward to learning all of the do’s and don’ts. Any advice before I destroy a cheap model?[:D]
Mike, help and tell me what you see in my post. When I get on the forum, the font that I used are 2 sizes larger than the default size that I see in you post. This post is in size #2, regular.
Size #1, Size #2, Size #3, Size #4.
I use IE for browser. Is it possible that your browser does not pick up the font size setting from my post?
