I believe that it is airbrush only, not sure if it comes in a spray can. I found it on-line, like Great Models Webstore, and at my local hobby store.
Can’t find Alclad? While I admit I buy it at mt LHS and have not looked online, I would have to figure gievn teh popularity of the product you should not have difficulty finding it online if not locally.
I just to a sec and looked at Great Models Webstore…http://greatmodels.com/ has the full line.
EDIT. I just saw the other responce… as far as I know it is AB only… i am not aware of it coming in a spary can, if that’s what you meant.
You can buy it at Squadron or Sprue Brothers.

Here’s the Alclad website explains all about it.
Thanks.

Very good information on the Alclad line of paint. I am going to have to try some of that stuff.

Alclad is best sprayed on with an airbrush. Keep in mind that it is lacquer based and it will etch or wrinkle the plastic. A primer or barrier is necessary to prevent this. The manufacturer also recommends that a black base be used and produces a black base coat for this purpose. The black base is part of the process and gives the “color coat” its metalic “look”. As with any product you have not used before you should experiment before you use it on a model. Again, it is lacquer so it should be used in a well ventilated area free of any source of ignition. You should also protect your lungs with an appropriate mask.
Meteorprod.com also carries the complete line of Alclad 2. Here is an article on the use of the stuff http://www.swannysmodels.com/Alclad.html
Alclad II is airbrush only and depending on the look you’re going for, requires a gloss black undercoating. BUT, that is only true for the chrome paint. Alclad II comes in a variety of colors, including, chrome, antique gold, burnt metal (awesome for exhaust ports), steel, aluminium and others.
But if you’re interested in a chrome look out of a rattle can, you need killer chrome in a can from alsacorp http://alsacorp.com/products/killercans/killercans_price.htm#ChromePaints. It’s expensive, but it’s the only rattle can that can match alclad II chrome in reflectivity.
Hope that helps some,
Fred
