Hey guys–does anyone have anyidea why the DML kit #6191 kit “Achtung Jabo” has an extra “F” sprue frame with Panther turret parts; specifically an A/early G mantlet (but no gun[%-)]), a mid/late cupola with MG rail and swing hatch, and other small, irrelevant details?! There IS a “hatch” figure in full, but why would they put this frame in the box?
Doog this is one of the mysteries with Dragon. Look at the 20mmAA gun crew set that includes an extra transport cart! Why not add the gun and have a complete set? The gun set comes with the cart, so you have two carts.
Could be due to the fact that sprues are cross-used between kits and figure sets depending? Sometimes it’s cheaper (and faster) to use a sprue from another kit, especially if it’s got crew gear and other similar items, even with all the “Not for use” parts than it would be to create a whole new sprue design and mold just for a specific figure set.
It doesnt really matter why. It’s nice to have the extra cupola. I plan on using mine to upgrade an old Tamiya Panther A that I am slowly rebuilding for use in a diorama. All the other “not needed” part goes to my ever expanding spare parts inventory.
