Pz.Kpfw.II, humps & bumps

Hi again,

I currently have a couple of these in varioues levels of completeion and I wonder if you guys could help me with a a question.
The MG is mounted coaxial with the 2cm gun, Dragon provide this:

Here are the instructions:

My question is; Should’t all those humps and bumps be shaved off?
I think the first one is the sight, the second one is for the leg assembly, the third one is for an alternative sight and the forth one is for the carrying strap.
And I guess that none of these would be required on a fixed gun?

Very Best Regards
Johan

Looks to me as though at least the front sight should be removed from looking at this…

Johan,

Yep, there shouldn’t be any external bumps on the MG34 outside the turret. The gun wasn’t optically sighted over the barrel but had a combined sight in the middle that worked for both the 2.0cm KwK as well as the MG. DML took a short cut and provided the standard MG34 from their Gen2 weapons set. Curiously, they also have you leave the stock in place, not sure if that was a common practice with the Pz II mount as most normal interior AFV mounts had the stock removed due to space considerations.

The foresight folds down against the barrel, do not remove it completely.

Loose the AA ring sight mount and the bipod mounts.

Thx all,
Kykeon, your observation matches my own late references perfecty.
I am struggeling to replace vent holes in the cooling mantlet after shawing the bumps off but am pretty happy with the result anway.
The first layers in a 2 tone Leningrad scheme are on, need to do some touch up but will post progress tomorrow.

Thank You very much!
Johan
