pv-1 ventura kit by minicraft

I was flipping through a US Navy camo and marking book and noticed a Ventura and thought it looked pretty cool. has anyone built one of these kits, and if so is it worth seeking out? dont want to bother if its a big stinker, know what i mean? any info would be appreciated.

I have 3 PV-1 kits, all by Academy, plus I ordered the Pavla detail set for one of them, and I highly recommend both the Academy /Minicraft kit and the aftermarket detail set. I agree with you that the PV-1 Harpoon is an underappreciated a/c, and you will enjoy the kit.

The kit is rather well detailed (IMHO), but lacking interior detail, hence the am Pavla kit. Hope this helps!

I built the PV1 from Academy…the interior does lack detail, but it builds up well.

that looks great, is the minicraft the same as academy? all i see at great models is minicraft.

Hey Matt,
These are great kits. Minicraft and Academy are the same kit. There is a long OOP PV-1 from Frog, don’t go there. The PV-1 Ventura is a different bird then the similar PV-2 Harpoon. The Harpoon is rumored to be coming soon from “Special Hobby”
