Greetings,
I’m not on the Ship Forum much, but I think you might be the best people to ask… I’m looking for some small plastic or metal pulley wheels (I think they’re also called sheaves?) that are between 10-15mm in outer diameter to rig some lines around a crane model. I’ve been up and down yahoo.com for them, but so far, not much luck. I’m not looking for R/C grade, or even functional pulley wheels, just some darn circles with a groove down the side. I’m not interested in making them from scratch, either… Too many. The best I’ve found are Plastruct, but they’re like $1 a piece! Ouch. Thanks!

There is an easy way to make them all at once:
Make a sandwich of styrene discs. If you rough cut the number you need, and bolt them together through their center holes (which I assume will be required), you can then finish them all at once with a file.
This way you only have to do it twice; once for the outer parts of the pulleys, and once for the inner parts.
Once you have finished both sizes, take the discs off the bolts and glue them together to make your pulleys.
Enjoy!

Not a bad idea. I may try that. Thanks!
