I have been building models for some year and have noticed with other modelers aircraft that no matter how weathered they make there aircraft the props alway look like they brand new and it stricks me as odd because as a pilot my self i know from all the prop driven aircraft i ave flown the about 90% of all of them have alot of leading edge wether but dont dispair fortunatly it is a very easy problem to fix on already finish models first dry brush a light coat of flat silver on the leading edge only demending on how weathered you want it next u must dry brush black or what ever colour u made ur props and now i think the plane would look more realistic an it does not take so long so try it out and let me know what u think and pics of your updated work would be nice so happy modeling[swg]
so let me know what uguys think
Cool Idea, thanks.
I am building a B-339 Buffalo now and I will have to try that
Have a GREAT day

Your right about the weathering /Wear of the prop. The most recent thing I’ve tried is first spray the prop blades with MM Lacquer Alluminium or like. Then I put tiny dabs of wax with a toothpic on the leading edge. Then spray it with the black, let dry then lightly polish the leading edge with a cloth. Shabang! Some Wear but not enough to scare. To much weathering on a prop is not that realistic to me. IMHO. Thats my thinking. [8D]
