how is “tamiya” pronounced? is it tam-eee-yah or is it tam-eye-yah?
Ta-me-ya I think.
Lee
I thought it was Tam - eye - ah
A Japanese friend of mine says Tam-eee-yah
Your Japanese friend is correct!
More like “Tah-mee-yah,” actually. All syllables stressed equally.
In Katakana it’s #12479;#12511;#12516;, and in Kanji it’s #30000;#23470;.
Can everybody’s computers reproduce those characters?
Oops, I guess not! I just see a bunch of numbers after I posted .
Funny…they looked fine when I typed it in.
Guess FSM better invest in a Japanese character reading OS!
How about Hasegawa??? how in the heck do you say that???
Hah-seh-gah-wah.
Again, all syllables stressed the same.
Let’s see…what else is there…
Fujimi: Foo-jee-mee.
Arii: Ah-reeee (kinda stretch out the “ee” sound)
Otaki: Oh-tah-kee
Any other troublesome Japanese company names?
Finally! Someone else who Nihongo o hanashimasu!!
Anata mo genkii desu ka?
(No, I’m not japanese, but, since my dad’s in the Navy, I lived there for three years! It was when I was really young, so I don’t remember much, but I decided to study it as a second language! I also speak Russian and Italian, who knew?!)
Bari-bari genki ya de!
I’ve been here about 10 years now, and my major at university was Japanese, so I’m doing alright!
Tenchimuyo81 is quad-lingual! Quite impressive! I also studied Chinese and Russian, but can’t say I “speak” either. Probably could get my face slapped in both, though.
As you may be able to discern from my dialect, I’ve been in Osaka most of my Japanese life. Where did you live? Yokosuka? Sasebo? Okinawa?
If anyone out there has any questions about Japanese langauge or Japan in general (well, modeling-related, of course!) I’d be glad to answer them. Or at least try to answer them!
well mr hulk, your incredible!!! Get it!!! Hulk!!!, Incredible!!! Incredible hulk!!!
LOLLOLOL
HEHEHE
how to pronounce revell? like ree vil or re(like red) vil?
trumpeter = trumpet-er or trumpet-eeer
I’ve always heard it pronounced reh-VELL.
Yes, well, thank you! (He’s here all week, folks!)
Can’t wait for the movie this summer. (Hulk!)
I reckon “Trumpeter” is “-er,” not “-eer.” Just “Trumpeter,” as in, “someone who trumpets.”
I’d go with “reh-VELL,” too.
Is “Revell” a family’s name? If so, they’re the ones to ask about pronounciation.
