Promote the Hobby with Old Issues of FSM?

What do you think of this idea?

With the loss of so many hobby stores, what if we promoted the hobby by placing old issues of FSM in your neighborhood. Just take off the address label so no nutcase can track you down.

I keep FSM issues for about 2 years and discarding any older than that, but now thinking of placing old ones in strategic locations in my area.

Comments, suggestions please,

Dave

I just saw a similar suggestion in an e-mail from the Long Island IPMS chapter (I think). If you have a club and you’re donating the magazines, replace the address label with one featuring club information, such as time and date of the meeting.

I’ve always been a proponent of donating those old magazines to doctors offices, dialysis centers, cancer treatment facilities, dentists, and boys and girls clubs. Any place where you have a semi captive audiance.

A good way to attract new members to your club is to place a label on the cover “Donated by (Name of Club)” . Be sure to provide meeting location and time.

Which reminds me, its time for me to do that myself, fortunately my neighbor is one of the physicians at several of the area dialysis centers.

You could also try Barber shops, automotive lobbies, maybe libraries.

Great idea Dave! I’ll add those to my list too.
