I read somewhere (maybe on ARC) that the pro-modeler (revell-monogram) F-15 E is a really high speed kit.That it has all engraved panel lines etc etc. Now i have been out of this game for around 20 years and that is not what I picture when I think of Revell and monogram. Are they joined now? To say that they make the best 1/48 mudhen out there is surprising to me. Anyway is this the case? What are your opinions of this kit if youve built it? Which kit exactly are we talking about, Part # I mean. Any link to the kit or review would be appreciated.

WHATEVER you do DO NOT buy the Hasegawa F-15E it is terrible. I hear that the ProModeler kit is better believe it or not. I have the Hasegawa kit. The pylons underneath are inaccurate and they are not very good. It is a first for them from what I understand. Good luck. Try the Squadron website or Great Models website. Or their is always ebay.
If you can find one, the Promodeler kit is considered by many to be the best 1/48 F-15E kit available. It is identical to the Revell kit except it includes a good selection of ordinance, which the Revell offering does not. Revell bought Monogram a while back so now they are essentially the same Company.
The Hasegawa kit is actually a kit of the prototype E, which was the McAir company F-15A modified as a demonstrator. Hence the inaccuracies.
The ProModeler E is a whole new kit. VERY nice. I’m building it as an isreaili “I” with a conversion kit.
Nice, what exactly is a “high speed kit?” One you can build fast? 'Cause this ain’t one of them. It’s a kit of a high speed plane, yeah. 
John what is that conversion kit? Does it work on that Hasegawa kit? And how much does it cost? Thanks.
High Speed as in High speed and low drag. Any of a various number of terms used by the US Army or its personell to describe something or someone that is well done, dependable, or of high quality in all aspects. So really I mean to say does it requires a lot of reworking to make it accurate and do all the parts fit together reasonably well. It would seem that this is the case from these posts. Looks like Im about to begin searching for one.

It was a short run kit that I believe is now OOP. Like most Revell/Monogram kits, they make a run and may not run it again for several months or a few years. Tamiya is one of the few model companies that seems to keep most of their catalog on the shelves. It will likely re-appear someday, but who knows when. I think the Revell kit without the ordinance sprue is more readily available, but I haven’t looked for one.
