The Promodeler 1/48 F-86D is one of Monograms best kits in terms of detail & fit. It has also been issued in a Revell box with a slightly different configuration. This one was built OOB, painted with Alclad2 & ModelMaster enamels. The decals are AM from AeroMaster.
That is really beautiful, the BMF is just perfect. I have one waiting in my stash and would be happy if it came out 1/2 as good. I’m curious as to how you did the panel lines, I’ve never quite got that down when using Alclad. Same with decals, I spray a coat of future, but that kinda changes the sheen of the Alclad. Once again, really nice.
Hiya Rick,
Now that is one sweet lookin Dawg…!!! I must say, you did an excellent job on the Alclad.
So how was it to work w/ this stuff? Iam still a lil nervous to try it myself…!! What Sqd is she from again?? The markings look very Familiar…!!! I know them I tell ya…[:p][;)]
Again great build my friend.
Flaps up, Mike
Alclad2 is actually pretty easy to use. Just make sure the models surface is smooth & no seams show. Use primer as directed by Alclad & all will work out well.
The panel lines on this one were accented with Vallejo dark grey acrylic, RLM 66 to be specific.
Very impressive build and finish on your Sabre Dog. Great looking plane and nose art, can’t beat 'em. Gotta love those early jets. I was wondering which Aero Master decal sheet you used? Are they OOP ? Thanks, Don M.
Very nice build, Rick! One of these days I might tackle a NMF, but until I feel confident in my ability to get the pesky seams and blemishes filled and smooth, I’ll stick with other schemes. If and when I do, I can only hope it comes out half as nice as yours!
