Turn this into a A7-P (an A-7A with the engine of an A-7B and most of the avionics of an A-7E.)
Now it only lacks know how on working in Resin and Photo etched parts.
here are some pics of the material:[oops]
looks like it’s going to be a great looking aircraft when you’re done! I really like the tail markings; that’ll definitely set it apart from other A-7’s. Can’t wait to see progress pics, and good luck!
Okay, dumb question but I have to ask it. From what you said, an A-7P is basically a A-7A with an A-7B engine and an A-7E avionics, then why don’t you just get a kit of a A-7A and do that one with the markings you have, you can’t tell what engine it has and as far as the avionics there wasn’t much a of a difference on the outside. I take it that you are doing a 1/72 scale. The only real external difference between a A-7A/B and a A-7E is that the A/B’s had the two MK-12 guns on either side and the E had the M61A1 on the Port side, other than that there wasn’t much of a difference between the two that you would be able to pick out in 1/72 scale.
Now the disclaimer, I haven’t worked on a A-7 for about 19 years so if there are some difference time has screwed with my memory and all my books are buried right now. I was in A-7’s from 84-87 (VA-82 A-7E’s).
Wow, its been a long time since we heard about your project! The chaff dispenser looks great, just wish I can understand the language so I’ll know how you did it.
I might be a little late in mentioning this but I was looking at your pictures of making an oxygen hose, it looks good but I was going to sugest for an easier way in the future you should get a pack of guitar strings, I’ve found the wound strings go a good job of it.
