Progress Update, R-M F/A-18C 1/48 Panel Line Scribe Finished.

Here she is! All scribed and looking sweet!

Pictures are the top upper fusalage. (bottom side fusalage done and progress posted a week ago) I took my time scribing the top doing just small sections at a time and working slowly, I spent roughly 15 to 20 hours scribing this model over a two week period. All scribing you see here is these pictures was done free hand, no guide, no tape… just the Mark 1 eyeball with Opti-Visor, X-Acto knife, sewing machine needle, pin needles fashioned from safety pins and jewelers files. Not to many mistakes and those I did make were easy to repair with a dab of Green Squadron Putty.

Just to remind you all this is my very first time scribing and it was worth it. |

Special thanks to Blackwolf for sharing his technique that helped this birds panel lines look sweet!

Comments welcome!

hay, what is up with your F-4J, I like to know how the cockpit is going? The scribing looks good,
I need to do the same thing to my F-5E.

Hey SargeD,

Thanks and good to see you too. The F-4J is on indefinate hold. Wife and I are planning to move to another state due problems here with gangs and vandalism here . Our van was broken into, had things stolen out of it, a tire slashed and empty apts. around us having doors kicked in and walls smashed in. We dont feel safe here anymore. Planning to move to Kentucky sometime in April 07, so I am going to wait til we have moved to work on the F-4J kit. We got an offer to buy a house there so I’ll have my own room to make into a workshop for model building. Nice thing is NO gangs there.

Looking good…

I don’t think I would try something like that LOL but as I said, she’s looking good.

Can’t wait to see more

In Kentucky all you have to worry about are the ridgerunners and rednecks :))

Hey…Easy now!

AM: Where in KY are you moving?

Mucker,

Wife and I are looking at Fordsville, 20 miles southeast of Owensboro. We know a few people there. Nice quiet town from what we have heard. Hope Owenboro has some good hobby shops.

And dont worry, I was born in Texas and that makes me a redneck by birth. hahahahaha.

That looks great Airmaster! I have one I need to do that to. Where might one find out the info you mentioned?

This worked really well for me.

Well that’s a little far from here. I know the Cincinnati chapter of IPMS has a fairly strong showing each month. I’m up at the tip of KY near Cincy. Unfortunately I can’t tell you anything about the Owensboro area, but best of luck to you and welcome to Kentucky!

By the way, I’m not from here originally…I’m a northerner (Cleveland).
